RICKARD AIR DIFFUSION (PTY) LTD was established in Cape Town, South Africa in 1979 with a staff of only two. Today it is South Africa's leading producer and exporter of quality variable air volume equipment and controls. The company is privately owned, managed and directed by its shareholders.

Since 1985 Rickard has actively promoted its products in foreign countries, which has resulted in the installation of its equipment in such prestigious buildings as London's Heathrow Airport, Alcatel's offices in Malaysia and the Rolls Royce offices in Birmingham, England.

In 2004, RICKARD AIR DIFFUSION (PTY) LTD. entered into a joint venture with Air System Components, Inc. Rickard US was born from this agreement to sell, market, and manufacture Rickard products in North America.
